They are on their way to Weipa to fish with Allan [Fish] Philliskirk for a week and were keen to see Hervey Bay for the first time before they went to Weipa.
Winter can be a tough time in Hervey Bay when the South West-west winds blow strong but there is still some good fishing to be had.
They landed and released Mackerel, small Snapper aka Squire and 3 species of Trevally for the day[Golden, Brassy and Long Nosed] and lost a few unseen good fish as well.
The wind was fresh from the south west which made things a bit more difficult but they still had a great day with a few double hookups and got to see some marine wild life.
It was Dave's Golden Trevally that was the highlight for them as it was another species to add to his list and he lost another one shortly after hookup.
Dave and Didi I hope your trip to Weipa produces plenty of great fish for you and I look forward to catching up again when you return to Australia next year.
Safe Travels and good fishing!!!
Paul
