Insun's Hervey Bay Slam

He had a great few Days catching and releasing some Nice Golden Trevally along with other species on the flats and in deeper water using deep fly.
He had a few good shots at some Long Tail Tuna but sadly didn't get a hookup on them.
He managed to get a Hervey Bay Flats Slam of firstly a Queenfish, then next up was a good Giant Herring and moments after landing and releasing it he jumped another one off after a short battle.
We then left the school of Giant Herring to target a Golden Trevally to complete the Slam.
We searched the flats and found a shark cruising and sure enough it had a Golden cruising with it.
The cast was made the Golden ate the fly and all that was needed was for Insun to land the Golden which he did and after a couple of quick pics it was released to fight another day.
We then moved down the flats a bit further to be greeted by some small Mac Tuna feeding, with his second rod rigged with a surf candy he made the cast and landed a released a small Mac Tuna.
Four species sight cast, landed and released in the one day on the flats is a special achievement for a fly angler and to my knowledge it hasn't been done before in Hervey Bay.
Well done Insun a great effort with 3 new species on fly from the flats to add to your list and I look forward to your next return trip to Hervey Bay.
