It was a cold breezy morning that greeted us as we left the harbour and I knew it was going to be a difficult day for fly.

Janne is a very good caster and fishes for Pike and Salmon on his home waters,he was getting the fly where it needed to be but the fish were hesitant to eat his offerings.

He tried very hard and persisted with the fly for a good part of the morning but in the end he managed to catch and release Queen fish and Golden Trevally on spin gear rigged with the ever reliable Snapback plastics on TT jig heads.

Sometimes the fly just can not imitate the food the fish are eating and at other times will catch much more than lures will,it just depends on the mood of the fish to get a reaction from them on the day and presenting what they want.

Janne I hope the rest of your trip up the Queensland coast is safe and enjoyable,it was great to have you on board for the morning and guide you onto some nice fish.
