This style of lures is certainly not a new thing and have been around for a long time along with other brands and styles and Leigh Boileau was producing Blade Runners in the late 80's for Australian conditions for saltwater.
When the guys were up last month on their anaul trade run we were discusing the use of them in saltwater and I decieded to give them a run around Hervey Bay.
They are really designed for Bass and can handle some pretty strong fish but with a bit of an upgrage to the terminal tackle they will handle some of the bigger critters that call Hervy Bay home.
The fish around Hervey Bay love them and so far they have taken a variaty of Trevally species along with Reef spcies.
I've been mainly using the 1/2 oz model in the deeper water and the 1/4 oz in 5 meters and less and have found the best retrieve to be cast or just sink it into the depths around bait schools and a slow lift of the rod [they have strong vibration action on the upward lift] and follow it back down.
I'll certainly be using these lures alot more in the future for my personal fishing and for my clients.
