Monduran Report

After over a week of cyclonic weather and a few disapointed anglers leaving the bay from not being able to fish due to the strong wind warnings we had the weather finally settled down.

I arrived at Monduran dam Saturday afternoon around 4.30pm and went for a fish up the dam and managed to land 3 Barra in the mid 80's on the ever reliable 150mm Arafura Barra and lost another bigger fish to a jump off.

I was going to fish into the night but an approaching storm with a good light show put a stop to those plans so I gave it a miss until the following morning.

It was hard work in the morning getting the bites and once again I fished very heavy cover to find the fish, managed to hook 3 but only landed one that went 95cm.

One of the things I like so much about the Arafura's is the ability to fish them where I can not fish other hard bodied lures, they roll around the branches very well without snagging up.

It's a great dam with plenty of good Barra stocked but getting them to eat and then when you do extracting them from the timber is the hard part sometimes but still good fun.
