The weather was terrible with 15 plus knots of wind and heavy rain at times but this didn't deter him from having a shot at these magnificent fish.
When hooked in less than 2 ft of water these fish really take off.
Without any sunshine at all for visibility to locate cruising fish we had to stake out an area I know the Goldens frequent when tailing for food and wait for their tails to give away their location and then get a cast in the right spot to get the eat.
He had quite a few shots at tailing fish but only landed the one fish for the session which was a great effort in the conditions.
Giedrius it was a pleasure guiding you onto your first Golden Trevally on fly, the weather wasn't in your favour but you achieved your goal of sight casting to tailing Hervey Bay Golden Trevally.
I hope the rest of your trip up the Queensland Coast is pleasant and safe and you get to catch some more great fish along the way.
