Hervey Bay Snapper Fun

There were 18 good fish landed for the session but we only kept 8 and tagged and released the rest.

As usual there was the by catch of Trevally which are always good fun!! these fish pull line hard and fast and fight all the way to the boat, they do not hesitate in taking plastics and fly's intended for the Snapper.

Justin was fighting this Snapper then all of a sudden something much bigger grabbed it and a tug of war went on for about 5 minutes until it gave up and let Justin land his fish.

You can see from the pic it had a good hold on the fish and by the marks on the fish and the damaged fins and missing scales we assumed it was a big cod.

A great session on the water with a good mate and some nice fresh fish for the table,it's shaping up to be a good Snapper season going by the numbers of fish around this early into winter.

Paul
