With the Strong wind warning and cloudy skies forecast for the weekend the clients I had booked to target Golden Trevally on the flats and Tuna in the bay on plastics chose to post-pone their charter to a later date with hopefully better fishing conditions.
I mentioned the Threadfin Salmon option in the Mary River to avoid the 25-30 knot winds but they were keen on targeting the Goldens and tuna in the Bay.
These fish were taken on a 1/0 DNA Frosty Broadside fly while sight casting to them in less than a meter of water, this fly imitates the small Herring that were mixed in amongst the Jelly Prawns very well.
This fish ate the fly as it was retrieved from the mayhem after the Threadfin busted into the Jelly Prawns at the mouth of a creek.
This fish was sight cast to as it cruised the bank looking for it's next victims,a well placed fly a meter in front of the fish was greeted with a open mouth and a fantastic visual hookup.
