Shaun is a keen fresh water fisherman and flies fixed wing air craft and helicopters in New Zealand in the trout season flying anglers up into the high country in search of wild trout.
Shaun's first trevally on fly
This was his first trip at salt water fly and he caught a few new species in the deep and on the flats,he got to see some Golden Trevally tailing but sadly he didn't get a solid hookup after one of them hit the fly.
He did manage to catch and release a nice Shovel Nosed Shark on the flats, but the full cloud cover made it very difficult to see the Goldens until we were right on top of them in most cases.
Nigel and Shaun it was great having you on the boat for the day and I look forward to guiding you again soon,hopefully in sunny conditions so you can see the fish much easier.
