Firstly there was Craig a keen fly and lure fisherman,Craig managed to catch and release Giant Herring and Mac Tuna on lures and was keen to get a Golden Trevally on fly sight casting.
Unfortunately the cloud cover made things really difficult but he did manage to see a few but it was too late to get a cast at them.
Next was Peter and he also got to catch and release some nice Mac Tuna and flathead along with Golden trevally
all on lures but when we ventured onto the flats when the tide was right the clouds closed in again making things really difficult to see the Goldens before they were too close to cast too.
Then there was Ross and his son Scott, the guys fished with me in April last year and returned to get into some more Trevally.
Well what a difference a day makes!!the clouds had mostly disappeared and the Goldens came out to play with the guys getting 2 double hookups on sight cast fish for the 2 days.
They managed to catch and release 16 Goldens from 19 hookups on Fly and Spin gear for the 2 days along with Mac tuna, Brassy trevally and School Mackerel.
But it was the Goldens that stole to show, all these fish were sight cast too and we witnessed some of the best visual takes you could ever want to see in 3 feet of water and on several occasions only meters from the boat.
Craig,Peter, Ross and Scott is was a pleasure having you all on the boat for the week and I hope you all enjoyed the fishing and your time in Hervey Bay.
Regards Paul
