Rather than cancel or take them out in unsafe conditions on the bay I took Rod and Peter to Monduran first where Rod had a fish smash his fly but failed to hookup!! we then moved on to Awoonga for a few days.

The early mornings were the best time on the water with the wind picking up during the morning to 25 knots plus by the afternoon and with water temps around 24-27 degrees it was hard work for the guys.

Peter managed to land barra and Rod lost one close to the boat, they had other short strikes that failed to get hookups and the usual Awoonga catfish made an appearance.

It was a tough time on the dam but the guys had a great time and enjoyed their first experience at fishing the lakes for Barra.

Guys it was pleasure having you up here and Rod I hope you get some great fish and weather on your trip to Weipa.

Regards Paul
