Finally the weather has settled after weeks of howling wind, rain, it was great to be able to get out and show the bay and Fraser Island to the the guys.
They are all keen trout fly fishermen, Mike has fished with me for the past 2 years with Andrew from Mayfly Tackle.
But this trip was all about getting Roddy and Lenny their first saltwater species on fly and the guys had a great time while doing it.
In the 2 days I guided them they caught and released 8 different species, had some awesome sight fishing and hookups to Golden Trevally, Long Tail and Mac Tuna,Queenfish and Mackerel and lost some big unseen fish on both fly and spin gear.
I introduced the guys to deep fly and soft plastic fishing for the many trevally species that live in the depths here in Hervey Bay and they had a ball catching and releasing them.
The fish of the trip went to Roddy,a sight cast Golden Trevally in about 2 ft of water that ate the yellow and white clouser I had him casting to them.
Mike also sight cast and hooked a couple of nice Golden Trevally but unfortunately the hooks pulled on both during the fight.
Guys it was a pleasure guiding you onto some great fish and watching you experience the thrill of Saltwater fly Fishing here in Hervey Bay.
